Rapidly accessing quick launch items with keyboard

One can rapidly launch and then access running programs from quick launch bar in Windows using following key combination:

WINDOWS + 1...0

Where the number corresponds to the order of the program in the quick launch bar. 0 is for the tenth item in the list.

For example, in my quick launch bar I have Firefox in the third place. When I want to quickly run it and then access it I just press WINDOWS + 3. This way I don't have to click or use Alt + Tab.

Note, you can minify (some) apps using this technique too.
