It's not recommended to install ruby and rails as sudo. It will be better to use some ruby/gem manager(rvm or rbenv).

You are right in some point. It is up to developer. I used rvm before and have a lot of troubles. It will be nice to see as simple tutorial as my by installing rails through rvm or rbenv.
