I have a background in education, a field I've worked in since 2008. I've taught classes from Kindergarten to college, but began transitioning over to technology and web development in 2014.
I apprenticed at a software startup in 2015, where I dug into HTML, CSS, and Java. I then co-founded the first coding bootcamp in Lynchburg, VA later that year, and went through the first cohort with the students.
After moving to Chapel Hill in 2016 to work as an Instructional Design Tech, I had the opportunity working in the evenings with the Coding Bootcamp at UNC as a TA. Over the past 2 years, I've learned and mentored students in React, Express, Handlebars, Sequelize, Mongo, and more.
While working through both bootcamps, I've built a number of projects, many of them on GitHub.
