Read-only VIM Trick

So you need to examine an important file, you cannot modify the original file, and you're a die-hard vim user.... Included below is a simple way to do this. Aand Yes, you can also do this with vim -R, but I prefer this method:

cat importantFile.c | vim -

Great if you're working with files that may be touched by others that cannot be disturbed. Safety First!
