Terminal on demand
I use Gnome3 and I use a lot the terminal.
I configured Gnome3 so that a terminal is always a keystroke away: hit CTRL+ENTER and you have it on the screen, with the prompt ready to accept commands.
To configure this (and many other) shortcut do the following:
- Go to the Keyboard section in System settings
- Open the Shortcuts tab
- Add a new Custom shortcut using the gnome-terminal (or your favourite terminal) as the command
- Bind it to CTRL+ENTER (or the shortcut you prefer)
