Work in a Linux-like Terminal on Windows
Sometimes you just can't work in a Linux environment when you really want to, so you have to find workarounds. Cygwin is a nice workaround. It's great for both experienced Linux users and newbies who don't want to leave their comfort zone. (Aka Windows)

Also, MSYS is somewhere in the middle. Not a real linux environment but more lightweight and better integrates with Windows.
