Split with the alternate buffer

When practising TDD, I'll typically do one of two things:

  • Open the implementation and tests in splits next to each other
  • Use the alternate buffer to switch between the two using Ctrl-6

Usually, I'd go for option one if the buffers are quite lengthy, or the red-green cycle is rather slow.

If you're using the second approach, you can switch to using splits efficiently with the following command:
