Barry McGuire is a renowned Urology consultant and robotic surgeon specialising in Ureteroscopy for kidney stones. Kidney stones are very common and very painful. I perform many types of treatments for this problem and one of them is called Ureteroscopy. This type of treatment is a very safe and effective way of treating stones in the ureter and smaller kidney stones. It is generally done by inserting a very thin telescope called a ureteroscopy into the urinary passage and up to the ureter to break up and remove the stones. The procedure would be performed under general anaesthetic and the patient would be able to go home on the same day.
