Go for JSON !!!
JSON is better in more ways than we can imagine,
It closely resembles the way objects are structured in OOP Languages.
It does not have much syntactic sugar
Easier on the eyes / processor / bandwidth
Although we should not forget XML was made for markup and representing rigid syntax of items whereas json is just for transfer of data.
