Fix permission issues with a Wordpress install on a Plesk controlled host

For example in Media Temple's DV servers, this can be an issue with default settings. The problem is usually evident when trying to:

  • upload files through the wordpress admin
  • perform wordpress upgrades through the admin
  • update plugins

Solution:
Simply enable FastCGI in Plesk.
