Rails Console : ~ printed when I type the delete key

#rails

Regular OS X Terminal

  1. Go to Terminal > Preferences > Settings > Keyboard
  2. Click Forward Delete
  3. Select Send String to Shell
  4. Press CTRL + ALT + d
  5. You want to see \004

iTerm2

  1. Go to iTerm > Preferences... > Keys
  2. Add a Global Shortcut Key
  3. Type the delete key as Shortcut
  4. Select Send Hex Codes as Action and type 0x004
  5. Click on OK and you're good to go
