Reusing previous command argument in new command
Let’s say that you’ve just created a new directory with mkdir awesome
. As you don’t use zsh
which comes with a handy take
command (after creating a directory jumps to it afterwards), you have to use cd
. Fortunately there’s no need to re-type the name of the directory. Type cd
and press <kbd>Alt .</kbd>. This way you can reuse previous arguments and save a few key strokes.
