Be Flexible

Always use the tool that provides the path of least resistance. Don't be afraid to learn something new if the potential for saving time and/or money is greater than zero.

If every problem could be solved with a single language, we wouldn't have so many available. Learning a new language is a great way to teach yourself different ways of looking at a problem and will lead to better solutions throughout all your projects.

In short, BE FLEXIBLE and don't get stuck doing things one way for the rest of your life.

Also, don't use code that no one else will know how to use or manipulate - it will cost companies time and money if you're ever to leave or be terminated! - That being said - I still agree with you, but you must be careful where and when you decide these things.
