Resume - think outside the box

A day before my interview with Shopify yesterday, I was looking at my resume (in the traditional format: summary, highlight, experience, education, etc.) and I was bored and thought I would never hire this guy if I were the hiring manager...

So I opened a Shopify store (with 14 day free try out), and 'hacked' the template with some of my ideas, in a few hours, I got something look like this:

(password: fleanu)

The point of this is to bind me with a timeline, as well as the locations of the events. It's just an implementation I put together real quick to visualize my idea, I just thought it looked more interesting and may get more 'click throughs' :) I had more ideas in mind such as having more clicking options to show the work portfolios, or links to githubs/dribbles/coderwall... with more webkit-transform effects, etc... but had to leave to the future for running short in time.

So yesterday, I recreated this resume/profile thing as a Meteor project called miProfile: https://github.com/534N/miProfile, I want to share it because I'm sure people will have some really awesome ideas about it :)

I have changed this to link to github account, in other words, anyone who has github account can create his/her own timeline :)

I had a similar idea about creating my personnal website/blog/Resume/portfolio under the form of a timeline with various dynamic filters such as :
type : blog post, portfolio project, Resume achievement
Techno : (ex : "i want to filter out any blog post/ project etc which a related to wordpress or .net ) (sorry that should be "eg:" but i'm french :p )
I had other ideas about it too but that's all that comes to mind at the moment.
Oh yeah, I wanted it to be 100% responsive ...
this could help you : http://www.webflow.com/

By the way, there is no such thing as "thinking outside the box"
It is just thinking, but we all think differently, this is a nice short read about the subject which might help put things into perspective :

Wow, it is indeed a good short reading followed by discussions that is 10 times longer than the article itself :D

When I put 'thinking outside the box' in the title, I really meant, not to follow the tradition... no means to get to the whole 'thinking' topic :P
