Darren Pulsipher is a software engineering professional known for pulling technology and people together. During his career he has been involved in several different industries including medical imaging, telecom, electronic design automation, cloud computing, business consulting and even nutritional supplements. This mixed industry experience has given Darren a unique perspective on how people and technology work together. Whether it is spending hours talking to radiologists to come up with a better diagnostics station or helping a stay at home mom run her home business selling nutritional supplements, Darren is known for leveraging technology and people to help customers and drive down operational costs.

Darren is a published author with 3 books on technology and technology management and over 50 articles published in several different industry trade magazines. He is known for his interesting story lines that bring complex technical concepts to a clear understanding. “Pulsipher offers the voice of hard-won experience leavened with significant amounts of humor…not exactly what one expects from a book about technology” Kendall Scott. He is also known for his speaking ability and has spoken at several conferences focusing on highly technical subjects and managing people and technology.

As an inventor, Darren has 10 patents in Cloud and Grid computing infrastructures. His technology has been used in companies to decrease product development lifecycle time through build, test and deployment optimization and virtualization. His work in Cloud Computing has extended to working with the Open Grid Forum, an international standards body, where he was chairman of several working groups. With his practical get it done attitude he is known for breaking down impediments to progress and getting standards out the door. He has a unique ability to understand the academic and business perspective and knows how to build consensus in tough political situations.

Darren enjoys working with people and taking on challenging problems. With his analytical abilities and his ability to relate and interact with people, he has been able to help dysfunctional organizations make changes and succeed. As CIO of a nutritional supplement company he helped the company establish a solid IT foundation (Infrastructure, Process, Organizational structure, practices) as it grew from $40 million a year to over $400 million a year in 18 months. He is known for tackling complex and difficult organizational situations, assessing current culture, and helping the organization become more effective.

Darren has 10 children ranging from the ages of 26 to 8 years old. They have lived in several different places over the last 25 years but calls Folsom, CA home at the moment. He spends his spare time at the swimming pool, Baseball fields, Basketball court and orchestra concerts watching his children perform.
