I love the magic of Ruby and even more so, Rails. For me, however, it's a bit uncomfortable to not have 100% verbosity and understand what's going on in the background. Nonetheless, the fun of it lies within the magic and not needing to worry about components like database abstraction or allocation of memory, unless you want to.
