Switch between applications in OSX quicker

I'm currently working with an extended monitor via DVI, and multiple spaces on OSX Lion. I needed a way to switch quicker between applications. The command center only contained the apps in the current space, so it wasn't really what I wanted to do. The CMD+TAB option also took some time between the first TAB key press and the last iteration of TAB key presses before you could get to an app you hadn't used in a while.
However what I found out you can also do is once the first CMD+TAB has been pressed the "two-finger" left <-->right swipe can scroll between the running applications.

Hope you find this useful.
