Been wondering how to make overlays & modals in Moqups?

Quite a few people in the community have been asking for alpha channels to be added to the UI- for the time being:

The how-to

1. Create a transparent PNG sprite in Illustrator (or download the one below)

Download my overlay sprite

1. Upload and drag onto your mockup - it should sit in the top left
2. Create your modal/overlay contents
3. Stretch the image over the entire mockup - it should stay below the modal contents

But it won't work for shapes?

Obviously, this won't work for normal stencils - but you get the idea.

Hopefully this aids some mockups - seems to have benefited quite a few in the community already!
