Preview markdown in OS X

If you work a lot with markdown files in OS X, previewing them can be difficult as the finder's quicklook option doesn't render out markdown.

Phil Toland has provided a plug-in for quicklook to render out the markdown.

  1. Download the latest version of QLmarkdown
  2. Extract the QLMarkdown.qlgenerator file to ~/Library/QuickLook. Create the directory if needed.
  3. Relaunch Finder

Boom, sha-boom.

Good stuff. Heads up though, the latest version appears to be 1.3. :) https://github.com/toland/qlmarkdown/downloads

Brilliant, and really useful - esp if you use a lot of markdown (and everyone really should be. :)
