Top 10 Career-Changing Programming Books Formatting Tips

If you didn't catch this article on Hacker News, it's one you don't want to miss.

I honestly don't read a lot of books and I wish I read more. Lists are great, but "Absolutely No Machete Juggling" has described the value in each book, which is encouraging me to read more. With over two years of solid programming experience, I believe that I have seen some of the concepts executed through my colleagues and I could possibly contribute more to the team than my naive self.

I compiled the list together; while the author says 10 books, there are are actually 14 given that some were closely related or part of the same series.

  1. The Pragmatic Programmer
  2. Continuous Delivery
  3. Clean Code / The Clean Coder
  4. Release It!
  5. Head First Design Patterns / Patterns of Enterprise Application Architecture
  6. Working Effectively with Legacy Code
  7. Refactoring / xUnit Test Patterns
  8. The Passionate Programmer / Land the Tech Job You Love
  9. Apprenticeship Patterns
  10. The Art of Agile Development
