Ubuntu wifi keeps asking for password with motorola router

I had this really annoying problem with Ubuntu 12.04 where it would prompt for a password, spend a lot of time looking for a wifi connection, and prompt again, ad infinitnum.

Login to the router, click "Wireless" up top, look for "802.11 n-mode," and switch it from "Auto" to "Off."
