Yes we use Chef 11 to provision stuff. Our current chef-repo is here => https://github.com/indykish/chef-repo
This is one of the reasons we abstracted the provisioner(Chef), to help customers use a platform based on their need.
We'll definitely take your requirement for meteor and launch with meteor support. Between we use "upstart" or runit equivalent to start a job and run forever.
Are you looking for "cron" support to run meteror as a batch process in fail-safe mode (I mean restart it when it dies using cron ?)
