While the actual comic's lurid artwork and dark premise could easily turn ghoulish, the promise to look at red rooms from a variety of different perspectives gives hope that the series will use the premise to say something meaningful. Still, fans of gore will undoubtedly get their fill as Piskor's gritty artwork promises gore. Inspired by the underground comics of the 1970s and 1980s by artists such as R. Crumb, Piskor's comics tend to imitate the texture and style of classic pulp comics. His unique style has earned him some degree of notoriety in the industry, as his comic Hip Hop Family Tree won an Eisner Award. Before it was announced that Fantagraphics would be publishing the series, Piskor had been teasing the series on his Patreon. https://33standard.com/category/netflix/
