As a young man, I date a trans woman. I realize today how I did not properly value these women and experiences. I was selfish and immature. My intention with CAKEWALK book is to reveal the toxic masculinity, and the shame that forms our family and social constructs. I wanted to spotlight the trauma we cause when we don’t value each other as a full person. If we can break free of the labels preventing us from being our true selves then, maybe, possibly, we can start to see each other as we want to be seen.
