Ornamental fish has been and is being loved by many people from urban to rural areas, from the elderly to young children. However, not everyone has the basic knowledge on how to take care of ornamental fish as well as proper aquarium farming techniques, leading to the fish being bought dead or maybe after a while the fish is stunted and not big. and then slowly die. There have been many people who come to our shop complaining that " my fish kept growing for a while and then died gradually and then all died ".
When raising ornamental fish you need to pay attention to the following parts:
+ Water source for aquarium fish
The source of fish farming water must be clean water that does not contain harmful chemicals and disinfectants. Most aquarium owners today use tap water as a source of aquarium water, but tap water contains a lot of disinfectants, especially chlorine, which is harmful to fish. If you use directly fish can die immediately due to the amount of chlorine in the water being too large, so when using tap water you need to dechlorinate the water in the following ways:
– Put the water in a basin to let the water take about 24 hours for the chlorine to fly away and then put it in the fish tank or after the water is pumped into the tank after 24 hours of use.
– Use a new de-chlorinating solution available at the store to dechlorinate the water
The pH of the water also needs to be taken into account if the pH of your water source is too high or too low, you should use a pH adjustment solution. To determine PH you can use a PH test pen or litmus paper. But most water sources in tap water have a stable pH that is suitable for fish farming
+ Quality of water in the aquarium
The quality of the water in the aquarium is one of the most important factors in how to raise aquarium fish, so when taking care of fish you need to pay attention to the following technical factors:
When taking care of fish you need to pay attention to the quality of the water in the aquarium because it affects the health, growth, immunity of fish, respiration, and metabolism of fish in the surrounding environment.
To have good water quality, you need to have an effective water filtration system, you should use filters with high filtration efficiency such as external filters, and overflow filters .... effective filter materials will keep your tank transparent. Change the water periodically according to the type of fish, the number of fish, and the quality of your filter to arrange the time to change the water for the aquarium.
When changing the water, you should disinfect the fish tank with salt, methyl green, ...... to kill pathogens.
Periodically wash the filter cotton for the aquarium to avoid water pollution
+ Food mode
You should feed the fish just enough, and not leave excess food to avoid overeating, affecting the quality of your aquarium water.
Fish have the habit of seeing the bait bite, so many people think that the fish is still hungry, so feeding a lot will make the fish full and die. So feed twice a day. (Morning and afternoon) If you let the fish go hungry for a few days, the fish won't die, but if you feed it too much, the fish will die.
In addition to dry food, depending on the type of fish, we should add fresh food such as juveniles, carp, and bait carp...
+ Temperature
Ornamental fish live and grow well in temperatures from 26 to 30 degrees, if the temperature is too low, especially in winter when the ambient temperature is low, you should use heating to increase the temperature of the aquarium. In addition, light is also necessary for the growth of fish. The aquarium placed in the room must have its own light to provide enough light for the fish
+ Choose fish that can be kept together
Fish species with the same behavior are easy to keep together. Fish living in the same tank avoid letting big fish eat small fish or big fish like carp, goldfish, etc. Raised with small fish such as neon, seven colors, fairies …….
