“AppDynamics helps”

What do you like about the vendor?

It’s easy to deploy, and the advanced features are brilliant. Creating dashboards and reports require very minimal effort, likewise with developing new extensions. Also, they provide great contact support. AppDynamics fixes reported bugs and provide constant updates.

My recommendation to others considering this product is to make use of the free trial - if you are good enough, you can complete your app diagnosis within the trial period.

What do you dislike about the vendor?

It takes a while before you get the hang of the features because there are many. Logs are sometimes hard to decipher. The learning curve is a bit steep in understanding the app server to deploy.

What problems does the vendor solve for you? How does it compare to other solutions you have tried?

Smooth operations - it helps us in monitoring and analysis of operations. User-friendly resources are available to view performance. If there are gaps, AppDynamics helps us to track and solve them.

“”

What do you like about the vendor?

The interface is user-friendly. It gives you all the access to the right information you needed at a glance making the troubleshooting process quicker than usual. Hassle-free monitoring and running checks on the performance of the app. If you don't like wasting time shooting blindly, AppDynamics will help you work efficiently.

What do you dislike about the vendor?

There are two things I can say I don't like about the product:
1) It's a bit slow to set up, and
2) The price
But I would say the solutions it will provide will highly compensate for these.

What problems does the vendor solve for you? How does it compare to other solutions you have tried?

It's best in monitoring multiple applications at a time and effective in finding weaknesses and gaps in my work for quick troubleshooting. Plus, it gives you the convenience of doing real-time monitoring anywhere since it is cloud-based.

“Friendly User Interface”

What do you like about the vendor?

The application is very informative. It provides you details which are really helpful for we could see how our current system works. Very user-friendly interface!

What do you dislike about the vendor?

This is a great tool for startups, but not that applicable when you're already on the production environment because it needs a lot of planning and decision making for this will require you to make changes to your current set up which may be inconvenient.

What problems does the vendor solve for you? How does it compare to other solutions you have tried?

I highly recommend this product to those who want to monitor the performance metrics of their new systems. If you already have a current structure, using this may be a problem.
We wanted to check how our new system works with this application and see what benefit our team could get from it.

“Noticing what we did not before”

What do you like about the vendor?

We are still in the process of assessing the worth of AppD, but so far it is the best in the market. The best feature it has is its ability to present the data it collects. It combines all the necessary information into one single pile or column and then presents itself in a way where you can check them one by one by one. This feature has actually been helpful too for the management as we study this software further.

What do you dislike about the vendor?

AppD is not really easy to use. You have to keep learning how to use it/always be studying it a little, to get the hang of it because there are a lot of features. Also, it is a little pricey when you have a lot of servers that need it.

What problems does the vendor solve for you? How does it compare to other solutions you have tried?

The best part about AppD was that it made us see the problems we had not noticed before.

“Increased productivity without adding staff”

What do you like about the vendor?

This is really something that an Operation team needs. A monitoring application that is neat, effective, and the Server Visibility is sweet; all perfectly organized into individual tabs! It's nice to know that AppDynamics is regularly improving.

Kudos to their 24x7 support staff who’re very knowledgeable in their line of work. Their new logo looks fantastic!

What do you dislike about the vendor?

It would be much better if they had a support service that you can talk to on the phone rather than emailing back and forth because that eats up your time when you are waiting for a response. In situations like critical outages, it's great to have a support that you can reach right away.

I was expecting some improvements with this new version 4.4 but it looks like there's not much in store for me. It's a hassle that we still need to undo the changes and configure them again when we need to pair it with a large environment.

What problems does the vendor solve for you? How does it compare to other solutions you have tried?

AppDynamics is worth the price if you also have the money to support the internal Ops Team as well for most installations, you need to give Admin access in your environment. It may be pricey, but you may consider this as an investment for your business needs.

With this product, we were able to increase our productivity without a need to add more staff to the team nor giving them extra workloads either. Also, our "signal to noise" ratio on our alert strategies has improved, including the automated responses outside business hours.

What is AppDynamics?

AppDynamics, run by Cisco, is considered one of the best Application Performance Monitoring options out there. With both on-prem and cloud based options available, it can be adopted in multiple environments to enable detailed monitoring of everything from the end-user to businesses performance. As the world becomes more and more software driven, businesses value opportunities to optimize their performance online. APM suites offer that ability in real-time, therefore it is not surprising that AppDynamics was ranked 9th overall in a “Cloud top 100” list published by Forbes in 2016. As for AppDynamics’ performance against peers in the industry, it has been recognized as the most rapidly growing APM software tool company for 6 consecutive years in terms.
