Not having a good way to search for people and protips on coderwall has been very annoying.
There are a few clever tricks that you can use to search for what you need.
You can search for all protips that contain a given tag by clicking on the tag within the protip. For example clicking on a protip about ReSharper takes you to the link http://coderwall.com/p/t/resharper. Keeping this url around can be handy for finding other protips with any tag. Simply swap out the last parameter with the name of the tag you want to search for. ie. http://coderwall.com/p/t/nunit or http://coderwall.com/p/t/linq
The second method for searching lets you search through all profiles and protips thanks to the power of google’s advanced search (http://www.google.com.au/advanced_search). Simply put in coderwall.com in the “site or domain” field.
This can be shortened down when typing in any google search field to simply “site:coderwall.com”. I have found this technique quite helpful for finding other friends and coworkers that have coderwall profiles. Simply append any query term after specifying coderwall as the domain, ie. “site:coderwall.com Kevin Bost”. This is also useful for search by location, team name, etc.
